Quality

PSO wants to invest in the quality of capacity building. PSO has opted to primarily focus on the quality of her member organisations' work during the 2007 - 2010 policy period.

To this end, PSO will talk to members concerning their approach to capacity building in the South. Subjects to be discussed include: are their interventions embedded in the local structures? Is the work in line with the partners' phase of development? And do their efforts actually contribute to the partners' capacity development?

Furthermore, attention will be paid to gender equality and the sustainability of activities. Learning in and from practice will be central to this.

Clear agreements will be drawn up on the basis of the discussions with regard to quality improvement. This will have consequences for PSO's role: alongside financier, the organisation will also act as a service providing consultant. A critical advisor that has the guts to scrutinise its own methods. All with the goal of effectively supporting capacity development in the South.
