Rob van Poelje
For tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today
I started my professional career in Thailand and my colleagues taught me the Tao of grasping opportunities whenever they present themselves. From this perspective, being prepared consists of having a clear vision that allows you to distinguish relevant from irrelevant, truth from untruth.
Expertise
Mijn werk bij PSO
As the Head of the Learning for Change department I manage academically trained consultants in their role as facilitators of learning and organizational change processes. My main management instruments are a results-based HRM cycle, coaching, and allotment of financial resources. In my coaching role, I focus on the relevance of the capacity development issues at hand, the pedagogical approaches to be used, and on project management issues.
Content-wise, I am a sparring partner on PM&E, capacity development in fragile states, organizational development, partnership in civil society, multi stakeholder processes, migration, gender and sexual and reproductive health.
As a member of the management team I advise the director as to the policies, strategies and instruments needed to stimulate learning and innovation among 60+ Dutch development NGO. The aim is to meaningfully link their practical experience to more generic knowledge generation and vice versa.
To keep in touch with the contents of the work I regularly facilitate or chair network sessions and public events with development professionals and represent PSO in the contacts with its international partners.
