August 18, 2011 - PRIA, CDRA, EASUN, INTRAC and PSO are inviting you to join a very stimulating process of collective reflection about the future of civil society around the world. Entitled ‘Civil Society at Crossroads?’, this initiative is based on a strong believe in civil society, and its importance and future roles in promoting inclusion, equity and justice. Therefore it is crucial to understand the roles, capacities, contributions, limitations and challenges facing civil society today in this regard.
July 5, 2011- Global citizenship , building global solidarity, cosmopolitan nationalism, charity, (enlightened) self-interest, the intended aims of campaigning, unintended side-effects of campaigns , narcissism, morale, all these concepts were shortly touched upon in a brainstorm session with Kate Nash (Goldsmiths, University of London) on June 21, 2011.
April 29, 2011 - PSO in cooperation with CIVICUS has organized a seminar and workshop on the concept, relevance and use of the Civil Society Index (CSI). The day was attended by over forty key-staff from mostly PSO member agencies. The relevance was clear from the reference that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made to the CSI in their guidelines on monitoring and reporting for civil society organisations.

November 25, 2010 - “Contemplating civil society”: it is in this framework that HIVOS and PSO are organising workshops for member organisations. The workshops bring together insights from practitioners and academics. The workshop of 4th of November 2010 explored the relation between civil society, political society and democratisation.
Civil society has become a coin of worldwide circulation, usually referred to in an unequivocally positive sense by those who strive for social change.
Hivos, the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) and PSO joined forces on the 9th of June 2010 to explore the challenges Northern NGOs face in supporting social movements.
