Workshop fragile environments: issues, dilemmas and outcomes

Abstract:

PSO workshop on capacity development in fragile states and the role of civil society. The goal of the workshop was to reflect collectively on the problems and dilemma’s in capacity development of civil society in fragile states and possible solutions. The report provides a summary of the highlights and results of the group discussions. The report also contains the powerpoint presentations of the three main speakers: Georg Frerks on State Fragility and Civil Society; Derick Brinkerhoff on Capacity Development in Fragile States: What can NGOs Do?; Matthijs van Leeuwen on Organisations in Practice – What drives NGOs in Fragile States?
