Tear: 9X Challenge
June 10, 2011- In 2009 two natural disasters hit parts of South Asia (Indonesia and the Philppines). Tear Netherlands took the lead in the relief response. In 2011 Tear published a booklet about their experiences and 'lessons learned': 9XChallenge.
Tearfund UK, TearFund Switzerland and TEAR Australia also took part in the relief response. Afterwards Tear Netherlands organised a three-day reflection workshop in Indonesia. Nine case studies, presented and discussed during the workshop, have been collected in the booklet '9XChallenge'. The publication shows the experiences and lessons learned during the relief response.
About Tear
Tear brings people together in the fight against poverty. They support local churches and Christian organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America as they carry out development and relief programmes and projects to benefit poor communities. The organisation also offers people in the Netherlands a range of opportunities to get involved in this work to help people out of poverty. Tear’s partner organisations work with the most vulnerable people in their communities, helping them to become more empowered, without distinction on grounds of ethnic origin, religion, gender or political conviction.
