For private individuals

If you intend to go to a developing country at your own initiative it is a good idea to consider your legal status, insurances and facilities. Think, for example, of insurances such as old age and next of kin insurance and the occupational disability insurance, health insurance and other social security insurances.

PSO specialises in this field and can provide these insurances for you. Because the organisation does so for a large group of development workers, you can benefit from favourable insurance premiums. Moreover, all our insurances provide global cover and war risk cover.

Furthermore, PSO can provide advice on the practical side of departure and residence in a developing country. For example, about arranging a medical, booking an airline ticket and providing transport.
The composition of the package of insurances is always customised. A lot depends on your personal situation.

PSO can only provide these insurances if you:

• have a clean bill of health;
• have an employment contract with a non-profit organisation
• do development-related work.

Request module

You can request a quote from PSO using the request module. The request module provides information on the insurances PSO can provide. You can compose your own insurance package and calculate what it costs yourself.

Secondment conditions

PSO's secondment conditions are based on well over 20 years of experience with the secondment of development workers. Our Personele Zaken Buitenland (Personnel Affairs Abroad) department arranges the secondment conditions, insurances and other facilities for approximately 700 people every year.

Our decades of experience enable us to conclude favourable rates with, for example, insurers and travel agents. Development workers can rest assured that our advisers know their business. The insurance package's composition depends on your wishes and the type of secondment.
