PSO has well over twenty years of experience with the secondment of staff to developing countries. On the basis of this, PSO has drawn up a good legal status scheme for the secondment of development workers.
This package of secondment conditions is aligned to the specific situation in developing countries and the legal status of Dutch staff.
You determine how this package is compiled for your development workers. We attune our products and services to your wishes as much as possible. Furthermore, PSO can also advise organisations on the practical side of the departure and the stay in a developing country.
For example, in the arranging of courses, booking the flight and providing transport. PSO can only supply these services if the staff:
• have received a clean bill of health;
• have a local contract;
• carry out development-related work.
PSO's secondment conditions are based on well over 20 years of experience with the secondment of development workers. Our Personele Zaken Buitenland (Personnel Affairs Abroad) department arranges the secondment conditions, insurances and other facilities for approximately 700 people every year.
Our decades of experience enable us to agree favourable rates with, for example, insurers and travel agents. Development workers can rest assured that our advisers know their business.
Alongside our member organisations, other organisations and even individual development workers can use our services.

You can request a quote from PSO using the request module. The request module provides information on the insurances and other facilities (services) PSO can provide. You can calculate the insurance premiums yourself. PSO will draw up an estimate in consultation with you with regard to the other facilities.
A tool exists aimed at organisations seconding people which helps them to estimate the costs involved: the PSO Calculation module. You can adapt the standard costs listed for the services (PSO facilities) yourself.
You can also adapt the insured salary. The administrative costs PSO charges for the carrying out of services and insurances are not included in the calculation module. The administrative costs depend on the package you select for your member of staff and can vary from € 400 to € 1,000 per calendar year.
