Wat is het Café Humanitaire?

Het Café Humanitaire geeft de mogelijkheid elkaar regelmatig te ontmoeten. Elke keer met een andere intellectuele versnapering bij de borrel. Altijd een thema rondom noodhulp, wederopbouw, vredesopbouw, sociaaleconomische ontwikkeling in fragiele staten, conflict beheersing, disaster preparedness of risk reduction.

“Securing the borderlands.

HAP Beneficiaries Workshop Report, Tukker, Henk , (2010)

Most accountability in the Humanitarian Sector is upwards to donors rather than downwards to the beneficiaries. PSO organised a workshop how accountability towards beneficiaries in humanitarian assistance can be improved on the 10th of December 2009. 

On the 24th of November, in collaboration with IDS (Institute of Development Studies), HIVOS, ICCO and Kerkinactie, PSO organised a workshop on ‘local governance in fragile settings’.

How can we communicate better with the people we serve? What can we do to involve beneficiaries in monitoring? How can we implement complaints handling procedures that are effective and safe for the intended beneficiaries? These and other questions on how to implement the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) Standards will be answered during the workshop.
